Shot Blasting

Our shot blasting machines throw a large amount of steel abrasive media by centrifugal force at the surface.  After the steel abrasive hits the surface, the shot blaster recycles the media.  Dust and contaminants are removed by an air wash separator and are removed to a dedicated dust collector.  This makes the process almost dust-free in operation.  Shot blasting with steel shot is the most environmentally friendly abrasive blasting method there is, because there is no use of chemical products and no waste of water.  Shot blasting can be used to clean surfaces such as steel, concrete and asphalt, remove paint and epoxy from the surface of concrete, improve skid resistance, and our most widely used method or preparation for our epoxy overlays and coating systems.

Planetary Grinders

Diamond grinders and polishers use horizontally rotating disks to level, smooth or clean a concrete surface.  Diamond impregnated or other types of abrasive wheels are mounted on the grinder.  The grinder may have single or multiple heads, typically up to 3.  Planetary grinders are well suited for highly polished concrete.  Grinders or polishers coupled with the appropriate vacuum offer a virtually dust-free and comfortable work environment.  Our grinders are used to remove coatings or adhesives from the surface, smooth of flatten concrete slabs or our epoxy overlays, remove surface imperfections such as trowel marks and prep concrete for decorative applications.

Scarifiers

Scarifiers are versatile, dust-free surface preparation tools used for concrete, asphalt and even steel surfaces.  Scarifiers use steel or carbide tipped cutters, in various shapes, depending on application, that are loaded on shafts placed around the perimeter of a cylindrical drum.  As the drum rotates, the cutters impact the surface at a high speed, fracturing the coating, overlay or concrete removing contaminants and abrading the surface.  Scarifiers can be used to remove high spots in your concrete floor, uneven slabs, remove oil contaminants, epoxy coatings or paint and overlays as well as the initial prep for new overlays.
